Music
At Aspley Guise Village School children gain a firm understanding of what music is through listening, singing, playing, evaluating, analysing, and composing across a wide variety of historical periods, styles, traditions, and musical genres.
As part of our programme of teaching, children from Year 3 upward learn to play the recorder. This allows them greater opportunities to encounter formal music notation and experience the thrill of performing pieces of music, especially in our Proms Event, each summer.
In addition to this, we have a number of music teachers who come in to support our pupils. Individual lessons can be arranged by parents to take place in school - this service is provided by Inspiring Music.
