EYFS
Pupils in EYFS are assessed against the Early Learning Goals. Pupils who met national expectations in each of the 17 areas are said to have attained a "Good Level of Development" or GLD.
At the end of the academic year 2025, at Aspley Guise, 83% of pupils attained GLD. National figures for 2024 were 67%
Year 1 Phonics Check
At the end of Year 1, pupils are required to take the Year 1 Phonics Check.
At Aspley Guise, 84% of pupils met the requirements for the check in 2025. The National Average for 2024 was 80%
Year 2 SATS Results
Up until 2023, it was a requirement to complete assessments for pupils at the end of Year 2. Although not all schools now do these assessments, we believe that they are a useful measure of a child's overall progress in the school and their overall attainment measured against national criteria. These assessments are used to establish whether children meet national expectations (EXS) in reading, writing and mathematics.
